We chatted on the theme of “Unruly poems (ones that defy convention through structure, language, and themes)” and explored gender acceptance, discrimination, and identity, among many other things. A wonderful chat!
Last night at the launch of Exactly As I Am, I asked the audience to help me write a new poem Mad Libs style and it was the most hilarious, wonderful, heartfelt time!
The result is this poem about queerness, community and birds, which I’m so proud to be launching today on International Non-Binary People’s Day.
