A rainbow image background with an ibis illustration in the left hand corner. Black text reads: You are never alone. breezy day in early March. a cup of green tea soothing cold hands. 24 ibis lined up on the porch squabbling and preening feathers rumpled by breeze. 54 pride flags pendulous from gumtree branches whipping and spinning magenta, orange and purple fabric whirling in time with wind, bird calls, the beat of my heart.

‘We are never alone’ – a new collaborative poem from the launch of ‘Exactly As I Am’

Last night at the launch of Exactly As I Am, I asked the audience to help me write a new poem Mad Libs style and it was the most hilarious, wonderful, heartfelt time!

The result is this poem about queerness, community and birds, which I’m so proud to be launching today on International Non-Binary People’s Day.
