I feel so privileged to share my poetry in the recently released Nothing To Hide – Voices of Trans and Gender-Diverse Australia.
This incredible anthology showcases a wealth of creativity from within the trans and gender-diverse communities, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, art and much more.
Nothing To Hide is edited by Sam Elkin, Alex Gallagher, Yves Rees and Bobuq Sayed, and published by Allen & Unwin.
You can grab your copy at all good book stores or your local library.
I have a new short story – βNot Gone, Just Differentβ – up at Island Magazine online.Β

βOh okay,β I say, annoyed at the time Iβve just spent sewing two new masks for us. βBut itβs not gone away, right?β
βTrue, itβs not,β she says, pulling my hand in the direction of home. βNot gone, just different.β

I’m looking forward to reading at Red Room Poetry’s Queensland Poetry Salon at State Library of Queensland as part of #PoetryMonth, next Friday 19 August from 6pm.
Iβll be reading alongside amazing poets Lionel Fogarty, Samuel Wagan Watson, Huda the Goddess, SachΓ©m Parkin-Owens, Hannah Macklin and emcee Angela Peita.

I had the pleasure of talking with David Ades for the WestWords Poetβs Corner podcast.
We chatted on the theme of βUnruly poems (ones that defy convention through structure, language, and themes)β and explored gender acceptance, discrimination, and identity, among many other things. A wonderful chat!
Have a listen here on YouTube.

Last night at the launch of Exactly As I Am, I asked the audience to help me write a new poem Mad Libs style and it was the most hilarious, wonderful, heartfelt time!
The result is this poem about queerness, community and birds, which Iβm so proud to be launching today on International Non-Binary Peopleβs Day.

I have a bunch of upcoming events, in-person and online, if you’d like to catch me reading from my new poetry collection Exactly As I Am:

I loved writing this poetic short story βThe Offeringβ, published at Overland as their Friday Feature, supported through Copyright Agency. Many thanks to Claire Corbett for accepting this piece. π

βI wandered for hours, listening to their murmurs, their poetry, their dreams. What do plants dream of? Half moons and blue rain, soft breezes and rainbow sunsets, bubbling rivers and purpled daybreak.β
