Thank you Saffron Jones for interviewing me for the latest issue of Jacaranda. It was such a joy to chat to you about poetry, publishing and of course, Animal Crossing ❤️

You can purchase a copy of Jacaranda: Volume 11.1 – Exposed Roots on the Jacaranda website.

The article begins with a brief introduction, where the interviewer mentions meeting Rae White at the 2023 Brisbane Writers Festival and highlights the importance of non-binary writers and readers supporting each other. The background features a colourful patterned fabric.

This part of the interview features a discussion about Rae White's fanzine 'No Horizons: A Dystopian ‘Animal Crossing’ Poetry Zine,' which includes poems about the video game 'Animal Crossing' and reflections on assigned genders. Rae expresses their love for 'Animal Crossing' and mentions how the game has allowed them to explore themes of capitalism, colonialism, and gender binaries. The background includes a colourful patterned fabric.

I have a new poem in Jacaranda Journal 10.1 alongside fellow contributors Jill Jones, Gavin Yuan Gao, Madeleine Dale, Mitch Cave, Timothy Loveday, Damen O’Brien, Shaine Melrose, Svetlana Sterlin, and many more!

Congrats to the amazing Jacaranda team including Editor-In-Chief Olivia De Zilva for all their hard work in putting this issue together. It looks incredible!

A white page sits on top of a yellow and white floral background. Text on the page reads, ‘Dive in. Rae White. Our block of flats an island, surrounded by roads turned to stinking lakes. Without traffic can hear every inch of noise: cicadas on stereo, bat wings, a distant siren, my neighbour's dog's breathing.’
