Celestial Bodies launch at Avid Reader

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 12 2024 | INSTORE EVENT

6.00pm FOR A 6.30pm start | 60mins

Join me at Avid Reader for the launch of Celestial Bodies edited by Aidan Demmers, published by Tiny Owl Workshop.

The book cover of *Celestial Bodies* features an illustration of a futuristic scene. A person with dark skin and short hair, partially cybernetic with mechanical limbs, is leaning into a circular portal, kissing a figure with long, flowing pink hair. The pink-haired figure appears ethereal and is bathed in a warm, glowing light. The background is a detailed, sci-fi setting filled with screens, wires, and equipment. The title *Celestial Bodies* is written in a stylized, celestial font above the scene.

ABOUT THE BOOK

What does it mean, to exist in a queer body? To love, to lust, to rebuild and rework and miss something intangible? In this anthology of Australian sci-fi, seven writers and three artists explore these questions through a series of weird and wonderful dimensions, times, and worlds.

Celestial Bodies includes works by Annalise Jensen, Konstanz Muller Hering, Julian Lawrence, Dawn Tasker, Caity Webster, Marlee Jane Ward, Aidan Demmers, Treffery Webb, Luca Masnata, and myself.
